Obituary of Nora Wolfe Comer
CHILHOWIE, Va.
Nora Wolfe Comer, age 93, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her home in Chilhowie, Va.
Mrs. Comer was small in stature, but very impressive in life. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. For 40 years, Nora served as an Administrative Assistant to the Army in the Pentagon. All of her work friends called her "Shorty", but there was no one bigger or better to get the job done. Mrs. Comer was of the Presbyterian faith, and she loved to work in her flower gardens. She and her late husband, Wade, enjoyed traveling and enjoyed many out of the country destinations, but her favorite place was home. Nora and Wade were each other's world, and she missed him very much after he passed. She loved family, and being together. Mrs. Comer will be missed, but it is a blessing to know where she is today.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Comer; parents, Noah Baldwin and Orilla Wolfe; brothers, James W., and Clarence Wolfe; sisters, Willie Scott, Edith Marie Murray, Carolyn Stoots and Nannie Hayden.
Nora is survived by her daughter, Linda Bridgeman and husband, Mike; sisters, Ozena Anderson and husband, Sherwood, all of Marion, Va. and Edna Sue McClure, of Seven-Mile-Ford, Va.; grandchildren, William James Bridgeman and wife, Janet of Abingdon, Va., and Jenny Lee Christian of Newton, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say special thanks to Home Nursing Care in Chilhowie, Dr. Chelsea Hamman, Ellis Home Oxygen, Team Nurse, and special friends, Lois, Janice, Brenda, Shirley and June; and special neighbors, Steve and Sherri Whitley.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
