Dear Irene, Becky, Mal, and family, You have my heart felt prayers during your time of grievance and my hands shall be lifted in prayers for you in the days to come. Malcolm was such a good man and one that shall always have a special place in the heart of the Cress family. Malcolm was there for our family when I was only three years old and had lost my Dad to a terrible accident in the year of 1957. Although I was too young to remember that time I sure do recall all the comments made by my Mother concerning this wonderful human being. I later found all this to be true and even more so as I was called into the ministry and worked with many families during their time of sorrow. The ministry was made much easier by the professional work that Malcolm offered through his services there at the Seaver Brown Chapel. His last supporting hand of support for us was with the lose of our Mother in March of 1999. This man will truly be missed by this community, however, his wonderful mark on many of our lives will continue into the tomorrows to come. I could not be with you in your time of need due to being in revival at Crockett, Virginia and then being at the Abingdon hospital with our wife yesterday but be assured that you all were in my thoughts. May God and the love that you all have for one another be the grace that helps you in the days to come. Rev. Herman Cress

My thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. Malcolm served countless families during their time of need with compassion and caring. He and my Dad were the same age and both served their community well for over fifty years -- many of those years involved ambulance service, months without a day off and many other things that the younger funeral directors have not known! Please know that you will remain in my prayers.
