Obituary of Stella Mae Ford Campbell
MARION, Va.
Stella Mae Ford Campbell, age 88, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at her home.
Mrs. Campbell was a wonderful wife, mother, and granny. She and June were married for 67 years, and through the years she worked over 40 of them at Harwood. Stella Mae loved her Lord, and she was a lifelong member of Valley View Baptist Church. She loved her family, and they loved her biscuits, gravy, and dumplins. Stella also loved quilting. If you were having a baby, odds are she had a quilt for you. She was a treasure to her family and friends who knew and loved her. Her gentle way and songs to her children will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary Jane Ford; brothers, Cecil, John and Willis Ford; and sister, Violet French.
Stella is survived by her husband, Henry Wade "June" Campbell of Marion, Va.; daughters, Wanda Hayes and husband, Jerry of Konnarock, Va. and Karen White and husband, Steve; son, Kelly Campbell; sisters, Mable Puckett all of Marion, Va., Thelma Ray of Pa., and Joyce Kirk of Marion, Va.; special granddaughter, Dawn Stafford; grandchildren, LeAndra Shaw, Betty Cook, Rebecca Young, Iris Brown, Jennifer Vernon, and Lisa Boothe; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Hunter, Dakota, Natalie, Kaylee, Miracle, Tahlor, Tyler, Bradley, Zachary, Lucas, Alana, Miles, Clara, Eliza Mae, and Zander; step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ethan and Trey; great-great-grandson, Everette; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Amy, Melissa, Debra, and the staff of Hospice of Southwest Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church with the Reverend Roger Frost officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at Valley View Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Bradley Hutton, Zachary Hutton, Dalton Young, Willie Rich, C.D. Stickley, Tony Costigan, and Scott Brown.
