Obituary of Alice Arnold Conner

MARION, Va.

ALICE ARNOLD CONNER, age 101, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.

She was born July 5, 1916 in Glade Spring, Va. to the late Charles Arnold and Alice Tuell Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. Conner, Sr.; sisters, Edith Barker and husband Ira, Nell Grimes and husband, Tom; brothers, J.W. “Gee” Arnold and wife, Thelma, Charles Allen Arnold and wife, Hester, Robert “Doc” Arnold; and brother-in-law, George Grimes. 

She is survived by two sons, Fred D. Conner, Jr. and wife, Janice, and Charles Conner and wife, Pam all of Marion, Va.; sister Polly Grimes of Glade Spring, Va.; grandchildren, Emily C. Peake, Benjamin F. Conner and Jonathan W. Conner; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ian Peake; sisters-in-law, Eula “Bug” Arnold of Abingdon, Va., Thelma Foglesong and June Conner, both of Marion, Va.; brother-in-law, Marvin Conner and wife, Bonnie of Bowie, Md.; several nieces, nephews, and extended church, and community family, and friends.   

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Woody officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2017 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
