Obituary of Charles Wade "CW" Cox
MARION, Va.
Charles Wade "CW" Cox, age 69, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was born April 17, 1948 in Crockett, Va. to the late Charles Marco and Ovella Kincer Cox. Charlie was a kind, kind man – family was the love of his life. He was married to Merrianne for almost 50 years. Charlie was so proud of his daughter Terri, her husband, Donny Harold, and his grandchildren. He was their PapPooh and will always be.
Most of Charlie's work life was at Smyth County Machine and Welding, and Home and Auto. He loved to hunt, fish, and golf. Charlie also enjoyed his time serving in the Kiwanis Club, and worshipping at First United Methodist Church. He was a good man, and will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Gail Sparks.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Merrianne Spiker Cox of Marion, Va.; daughter, Terrianne Nichelle Julian and son-in-love, Donny Harold Julian; grandchildren, Dustin H. Julian and Morgan H. Julian, all of Roanoke, Va.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend David Woody and the Reverend Harry Howe officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
