Obituary of William "Bill" Leedy
MARION, Va.
William "Bill" Leedy, age 83, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Bill was born in Marion and lived here most of his life. He was a graduate of Marion College, and made many friends while working at Harwood as a Data Processing Manager. Bill was a deacon and active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Marion. He proudly earned the title World's Greatest Pappy by loving to fish with his grandchildren, as they would visit each summer. No matter the catch, the fishing adventure would end with a trip to Cracker Barrel. As his health began to decline, Bill and his wife of 61 years, Geneva, moved to Madison, Mississippi to be with their daughter, Rhonda and her children. Bill Leedy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roby and Ruby Leedy; two sisters, Sybil Prater and Violet Russell.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Leedy of Marion, Va. and Madison Miss.; daughter, Rhonda Burnett of Madison, Miss.; grandchildren, Chelsea Wohlgemuth and husband, Baron of Madison, Miss., Ursula Daniels and husband, Sgt. Spencer Daniels of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and Raymond "Raes" Burnett, IV of Madison, Miss.; and two nieces.
