Obituary of Edward Dwayne Idol

Speedwell, Va.

Edward Dwayne “Eddie” Idol, age 54, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home.

He was born October 1, 1962 in Norfolk, Va. to Irene Musser Idol and the late Richard Edward Idol. Eddie loved music! Elvis Presley was certainly one of his favorite artists. He loved to laugh, and watching Westerns on tv was a favorite pastime. Above all, Eddie was a loving and dedicated husband, son, and friend to many.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Idol.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Idol of Speedwell, Va.; mother, Irene Musser Idol; sister, Shelia Renee Parks and husband, Tony, all of Marion, Va.; nieces, Alisha Parks, Amy Parks, and Asia Guidroz; aunts and uncles, F.B. Musser, Peggy Ann Caudill, Clarice McGrady and husband, Robert, and Linda Firestone; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Bell and the Reverend Herman Cress officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Idol Family would be appreciated to assist in final expenses.
