Obituary of Lila Elizabeth Williams
RICHMOND, Va.
Lila Elizabeth Williams, age 73, died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.
She was born February 23, 1944 in Washington D.C. the daughter of the late Marshall L. and Anna B. Williams. She graduated from Osborn High School in Manassas, Va., received her Bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater College, and her Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She lived for over 40 years in Richmond, where she was employed as a librarian with the University of Richmond. Lila was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Richmond where she served as church librarian for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Alice W. McDowell (James) of Marion, Va., niece, Susan McDowell (Adam Griffith); nephew, John McDowell; two great-nephews; and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 2709 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23220 witha reception following in Flamming Hall.

The family wishes to thank Francis Marion Manor and Hospice of Southwest Virginia for their excellent care during Lila’s brief illness. They also wish to thank her many friends who have been so supportive during this difficult time.
