Obituary of Bertha M. Hubble
CERES, Va.
Bertha M. Hubble, age 88, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 8, 1928 in Smyth County, Va. to the late William George and Mary Sula Ann Myers Hayton. Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Marion. Bertha enjoyed working in her garden, being out on the farm, crocheting and reading. She was a beloved member of the Ceres Community and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David Glenn Hubble, Jr.; son, David Clarence Hubble; brothers, Henry R. Hayton and Marvin Hayton; sisters, Virginia Harmon Louthian, Hattie Ruth Hayton and Nannie Hilderbrand.
Bertha is survived by her daughters, Darlene Turley and husband, Sammy, and Gail Hawk; daughter-in-law, Jean Hubble; sisters, Hazel Turley, Lettie Myers and Polly Blankenbeckler and husband, Barney; seven grandchildren, David Hubble and wife, Robin, Missy Frye and husband, Eddie, Stephanie Hubble and companion, Ryan, Keith Hubble and wife, Becky, Edward Turley and wife, Tomi, Michael Turley and wife, Brittany and Joey Hawk and wife, Erin; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor David Tripp officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Nebo, Va. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
