Obituary of Juanita Anderson

SUGAR GROVE, Va. Juanita Anderson, age 98, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Art "Shorty" Anderson; mother, Bertha Dutton; sister, Evelyn Shumate; brother, Robert Brooks. Juanita was a good Christian woman and a longtime member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church. She was active with her family, friends, community and church. Juanita was a wonderful caregiver to the people she loved and her patients at the State Hospital where she was a nurse's aide to many wonderful people during her work. She was a wonderful wife, mother and mamaw great, she will be missed. Juanita is survived by her son, Ronald Anderson and wife, Dorothy of Sugar Grove, Va.; granddaughters, Sara Anderson and husband, Christopher Roope of Radford, Va. and Jeanie Johnson, of Atkins, Va.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Va. with Reverend Kenny Price officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel until the time of service. Burial will be private at Slemp Cemetery, Tuesday at 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
