Dear Linda, Kenny and Family,
Wanted to send a brief message to let you know that I was told by Pat of Aunt Marie's passing and
was very sad to hear that the last of the Young Family is now gone. Hope they are all together in a
very happy place.
I have many great memories of spending summer time with you, Kenny, Aunt Marie and Uncle Herbert.
Sorry we haven't been able to see much of you the last few years but life has taken us all in different
directions.
It was great to see that you have such a large extended family. I'm sure that they are a great support
to each of you.
I was pleased to see that Aunt Marie lived such a long life and from the pictures, she appeared to be
happy and surrounded by love. Love to you all, Janet and Dave

Kenny, Susie, Linda, and Jimmy,
On the one hand we were saddened when we received the email informing us that Mrs. Cooper had died. On the other hand, each time that we visited Barbara's mom at Francis Marion Manor, seeing Mrs. Cooper there brought back the memories of my mom having spent the last six years of her life in Alzheimer's care. Everyone associated with those and similar situations know know how truly difficult it was for everyone involved. Only God knew when either of our mom's would be able to leave behind these earthly bodies. Barbara and I had the happy occasions to reunite with Kenny at our class reunions and as ironic as it might seem, we had the great good fortune to see Linda the last time that we visited Barb's mom. Thankfully, Linda introduced herself to me since I did not recognize her at first. It seems that my hair and my memory got kind of gray at the same. I must have traveled more miles of bad roads than either Linda or Barbara had. Mrs. Cooper was a very very special person to me. If God meant for me to have a second mother here on earth, it had to be Mrs. Cooper. She could not possibly have been more loving, caring, welcoming or generous than she was to me. For that I am truly grateful. I am equally as grateful that she did not send me a bill for all of the great meals that she fixed for me.

Linda and Kenny,
We wish to join you and others in celebrating the life of a Rich Valley Lady. I remember seeing Marie and Herbert together as newlyweds at the Young household at Lick Creek. I was a young boy and it was remarkable for me to see a young couple so happy and enthusiastic about their future.
Her legacy is her care, kindness and unqualified devotion to others. First, her beloved Herbert, her family, her friends, her church and community. I see her kindness in her children and grandchildren, today. What a gift they have received. I also remember how she cared for my grandfather, Hugh Cooper.
She was an extraordinary cook. Any time I came to visit she would whisper in my ear: "Jim, there is a piece of warm pie for you on the kitchen table." I was never disappointed. She worked hard all her life, at home, at the hospital and in the community. I never heard her speak unkindly about anyone. We are blessed to have been part of Marie's life and to have known her devotion to others.
