Obituary of Charles Hall

MARION, VIRGINIA: CHARLES W. HALL, age 64, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a veteran of 20 years of service with the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant 1st class. Mr. Hall served two tours in Vietnam and was in the military intelligence. In 1978 he worked as manager at Thompson Tire, and started the Archery Range in 1981 in Adwolfe, Virginia which he loved. Mr. Hall was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Alta Fox and Ed Barmus, a sister, Polly Terry, and a nephew, Randy Terry. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brooks Hall of Marion, Virginia. One son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Hall of Marion, Virginia. One sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Oliver Daughtery of Buckeye, Arizona. One step-granddaughter, Ruthie Leonard. One step-grandson, James Leonard, Jr. and one step-great-grandson, Tyler Leonard. Three nieces, Becky Vitek and Rhonda Terry, including a special niece, Teresa Powers and husband, Rodney and their son, Dillon. His special buddy, his dog, Kurley. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating, where military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
