Obituary of William R. Duncan
MARION, Va.
William R. Duncan, age 68, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home.
He was born November 27, 1948 in Hinton, W.Va. to the late Harless Roscoe and Arvilla Marie Shaffer Duncan. William was a wonderful father, grandfather,and husband He was always "Judy's Willie." He enjoyed wood working and tinkering. His favorite project was his family tree. William loved to fish and being in the outdoors. He was very proud of his country and his service to the U.S. Army. He spent two tours in Korea, one in Vietnam, and over 23 years active duty. William will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Duncan of Marion, Va.; daughters, Christine Thompson and fiancé, Joseph Medved of Milwaukee, Wis., Lola Marie Blade and husband, Del of Radford, Va., and Tammy Hall of Marion, Va.; son, Anthony Duncan and wife, Angela of Leavenworth, Kan.; half-brother, Charles Hussy and wife, Rebecca of Radford, Va.; grandchildren, Aaron Thompson, Meaghan Duncan, Jacob Thompson and fiancée, Saige Angrick, Elizabeth Duncan and Xander Hall; and great-granddaughter, Annabelle Duncan.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. Burial will be private in Dublin, Va.
