Obituary of Jim Hash

MARION, Va. Jim Hash, age 45, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home. Jim had a passion for his family, his faith, and his farm. He was a loyal and hard worker and proud member of Falling Water Baptist Church. Jim’s work was so important to him and his company. Because of the 23 years of service and dedication, a lot of the changes in the way Utility Trailer operates to this day is because of Jim. Jocie and Emily know that he was a wonderful daddy, and they were two of his greatest treasures. Another proud moment came just a few days ago when Jim and his family were awarded the Outstanding Farm Family of the Southwest Virginia Agricultural Association. Jim never stopped celebrating, his family says. Jim Hash was a great man who touched many lives, and he will be missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Hash; and grandparents, Carl and Irene Hash. Jim is survived by his wife, Sally Hash; daughters, Jocie and Emily Hash; mother, Vicki Hash; sisters, Sherry Bane and husband, Tim all of Marion, Va. and Leslie Vanover and husband, Nathan of Speedwell, Va.; many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Allison Bane and special nephew, Eric Bane and wife Ashley and their daughter, Gretchen; and several friends who helped with his farm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Creasy officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association, DC/MD/VA Chapter, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD 20855.
