Howard was a great man, and wonderful person. He became a good friend of mine as I'd see him quite often at my former place of employment and local places such as Wal-Mart and many others. Howard was a friend to many and he sure will be missed, Andrew and family, my heart goes out to all of you

Was saddened to hear the passing of Howard. My Sons and Andrew play Soccer together at MSHS, also Sea Cadets together. However Howard went above and beyond for the Boy Scouts program. If Andrew missed a Sea Cadet event we always knew he was at a Scout event. Howard truly loved the Scouts. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

i just got the news today feb 17 TH 2017 that very close friend of mine passed. Howard Roland passed and i would like to give my condolences to his family. I first knew Howard Roland in the band called Robin Banks. iIwas a younger bass player at this time and i was amazed by the band and Howard. In early eighties i was in bristol VA at the time right out of high school working with some amazing musicians. We were trying to put a new band together and we could not find the right fit for guitar. Howard was recovering from a near fatal motor cycle accident. Just by pure chance and fate our paths crossed. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to create music with this gentle caring gent. We created the band Quadrant and for over two years we played all all over the tri cities area and i lived with Howard most of this time and got to know what I remember as a most trusting and caring person my path has ever crossed. Not long after this i moved to south florida and HOWARD visited in 1986 and sadly that was the last time spoke to Howard. But I've always thought about Howard and for the rest of my life i will never forget the influence and impact he had on my life.

Hello, I want to offer my sincere sympathies to Howard's family for your loss. Howard was a few years behind me in school, but being a few bands around town myself, I was well aware of Howard and his immense talent on lead guitar. I still have a reel to reel tape of him, Frank Britton, Jimmy Wilson, and Duke Gillespie playing out in his parents front yard when we were all still in high school. It was so loud that people down at the bowling alley said they could hear us! Life leads us all in different directions, so I never got to see Howard much after that. But I always liked and respected him immensely as a musician and as a person. Please accept my prayers and sympathies for your loss.
Sincerely,
HB Beverly
