Obituary of Ernest Dean Hicks

SUGAR GROVE, Va. Ernest Hicks, age 69, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his home in Sugar Grove, Va. He was born December 20, 1946 to the late Charles and Dolly Greer Hicks. Ernest was a great husband, wonderful father and grandfather. He was a dependable man that his family loved dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Wayne Hicks; and grandson, Harley Junior Davis. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Zetta Lee Hicks; sons, Eddie Hicks, Chad Hicks, all of Sugar Grove, Va. and Rodney Hicks of Star, S.C.; daughters, Shena Stamper and husband, Michael of Sugar Grove, Va., Emily Hicks and companion, Zach Blevins of Chilhowie, Va., and Jeannie Hicks and companion, Bo Weddel of Marion, Va.; step-daughters, Dawn Sheets and husband, Mark, Robin Evans and husband, Michael, all of Sugar Grove, Va. and Racheal Akers and husband, Billy of Taylorsville, N.C.; special niece, Taresa Hicks of Lenoir, N.C.; and special companion, Bonnie.
