Caroline and Elizabeth,
We just got back from Asheville about an hour ago. We were shocked to see the obituary in the paper. Charles and Harriet were wonderful neighbors in Saltville. I, Cheri, have such fond memories of babysitting you as little girls.

I was so sorry to read Charlie's obituary today. I worked in the same office in Marion as Charlie. He was a great friend and he and Harriet used to ride me hard because I am a UNC grad and they were such big fans of the Clemson Tigers. I lost several bets to Charlie when the Tigers and Tarheels would play. Your fad was a great man and I will miss him a lot. I hope God gives the family the piece of mind that Charlie and Harriet are loving each other in heaven together.

Sorry for the loss of Charlie, he was a gentleman and always so friendly. I thought a lot of him and of course your Mom too. I always enjoyed seeing them and talking to both. My late husband Jim was in Kiwanis with Charlie. I won't be able to attend services as I will be out of town but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
