Mr. McCarty was the head of one of the greatest families I've ever witnessed in God's Kingdom.
So full of Godly integrity, he and his wife modeled what Christianity is, like few couples I've ever seen.
Great is their reward.

I am joining with the McCarty family in grief and in celebration for a life well-lived. I have such fond memories of Jack. His wisdom, his faith, his humor made him a beloved pillar of the community. I am blessed to have shared a part of his journey. I loved golfing with him, sharing in family meals, serving at church together -- what a treasure!!!! I send special love to Rosie-- know I am holding you in my heart. With you, I put my trust in the Risen Lord. I am thankful for resurrection hope and the picture of Jack now sitting with Jesus and laughing with all the saints gathered in heaven.

Thelma and I are shocked and saddened by Jack's passing; shocked because he overcame so much in recent years with unceasing good humor and that ever present smile that we thought he would always be with us. Our most profound sympathy goes to Rosie and the children and grandchildren, They have all been blessed by long association with one of God's finest creations.

Rosie and family,
I just cannot express how sad I am for all of you and for the rest of us who have been blessed by Jack as he journeyed through his life.
I never saw him that he didn't give me, no matter how much I was, as Susan says, " acting up" a big old hug.
In some ways he reminded me of my own father, which is quite an honor.... they made you feel like you had to smile whether you wanted to or not... that's how forceful their persona was when they made an entrance.
Rosie, only those who have been through losing a spouse know how you feel. I can only say how sorry I am that you have to live without him. Your love for each other was a wonderful thing to see.

We have a Good Friday service at our church tonight but I'll stop by and see you if it is not too late. I'm so glad your family is here for you. I did not realize you had been married for 64 years. Congratulations! What a special time of year to celebrate his life! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We were so sorry to hear of Jack's death. He and Rosie are such a treasured part of our memories of family gatherings in Rich Valley, and we will miss his smiling face and his tales of the old Valley days. We will cherish his taped guided tour of Rich Valley all the more, now that he is gone. He was a wonderful person, and I am sure that he will be greatly missed by his family, church, and community.

I want to send my condolences to Rosie and her beautiful family. You all hold a special place in my heart. Jack was one of the funniest men I have ever known and seemed to always have a smile on his face. The man knew how to tell a story! His humor was infectious to all around him. His love for his family was without bounds and his pride in them was always evident. He leaves a wonderful legacy that I know will be honored by his family. He lived a life that we all could emulate but I doubt that we could match his dry wit.
What he has left behind is a loving family that will miss him but through their faith, will know how fortunate they are to have had him as their patriarch. My prayers will be with you in this time of sorrow.
Much love, Leslie
