Obituary of Kathryn Shortt Weindel

MARION, Va.: KATHRYN SHORTT WEINDEL, age 96, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion Va. Kathryn was a member of D.A.R. and the Huguenot Society. She was also very active in many community affairs. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Weindel. Kathryn is survived by her first cousin, Margaret Grimes; second cousin, Julia Lyons, both of Wytheville, Va.; and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12 noon at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Wytheville, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
