Obituary of Dorothy Biddle
MARION, VIRGINIA: DOROTHY "DOTTIE" BIDDLE, age 82, went home to Heaven, Monday, September 21, 2015 at Carrington Place of Wytheville.
A life well spent is evidenced by what is left behind. Dottie loved the Lord and lived her life in service to Him. She enjoyed singing, crafts, cooking and spent her final days telling others of her love for Christ. She had two careers, 54 years as a nurse and 25 years as a missionary, but her greatest joy came in raising her children to also love and serve the God. Although the hearts of those who love her are broken, her last words of wisdom "your hearts will heal, just continue to trust God, and I will see you soon", will give them comfort. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Walter Biddle. They are now rejoicing together in Heaven.
Dottie is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Workman and husband, Roger of Tinian, Cindy Sumner and husband, Greene of Fort Myers, Fla., Debbie Long and husband, Tim of Garland, Texas, and Chris Stone and husband, Don of Sugar Grove, Va.; son Jim Biddle and wife, Christa of Tallahassee, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her second family at Carrington Place of Wytheville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Billy Gwinn officiating and Dottie's family sharing her life's testimony. Burial will follow in Comers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
