Obituary of Betty Kirk

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: BETTY BEAR KIRK, age 76, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Reeves "Sonny" Kirk; and her parents, David Franklin and Charmie Belle Goodman Bear. Betty is survived by three daughters, Leigh Kirk Hess and husband, Eddie of Atkins, VA, Ann Kirk Nairn and husband, Dr. Todd Nairn of Abingdon, VA and Mary Beth Kirk Carter and husband Ronny of Saltville, VA; brother, David F. "Jim" Bear and wife, Betty of Rural Retreat, VA; sisters, Deb Hanshew of Atkins, VA and Pat Huber and husband, Peter of Pulaski, VA; sister-in-law, Helen Boone of Weaverville, NC; brother-in-law, Dean Kirk and wife, Phyllis of Wytheville, VA; three grandchildren, Amber Carter, R.J. Carter and Kirk Nairn; one great-grandchild, Allison Williams; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her sisters at heart, the Tuell sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend David Neel and Reverend Luther Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Nebo, VA. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
