Obituary of Mildred Olinger
MARION, VIRGINIA: MILDRED MCALLISTER OLINGER, age 81, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Carrington Place in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
She was the daughter of William C. and Mary Keesee McAllister and the widow of Warren V. Olinger.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael Olinger of Cleveland, Tennessee and David Olinger and wife Lesa of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one daughter, Dixie Olinger Sheets of Marion, Virginia. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Amanda Sheets and Marcus Sheets, both of Marion, Virginia; Kristopher Olinger and Todd Olinger and wife, Amber all of Cleveland, Tennessee and their mother, Sue of Castlewood, Virginia; Heather Olinger of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; step grandsons, Jarrod Tatum and wife, Mandy of Richlands, Virginia and Jacob Tatum of Parris Island, South Carolina. One great-grandson, Aiden Olinger of Cleveland, Tennessee and one step-great granddaughter, Baylee Tatum of Richlands, Virginia. She is also survived by one sister, Rita M. Davidson of Saltville, Virginia; two brothers, Haskell "Buddy" McAllister and wife, Carol of Mobile, Alabama and Lowell McAllister and wife, Eunice of Georgetown, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Louise Taylor of Chilhowie, Virginia, Shirley Keese and husband, Reggie of Abingdon, Virginia, Linda Rector and Mary Lou Olinger both of Marion, Virginia, Mildred C. Olinger of Radford, Virginia, Maxine Olinger of Marion, Virginia; and brother-in-law, Larry Worley of Saltville, Virginia. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Margralynn Pack, Angela Lampkins and Iva Barker and the Marion Police Department for their assistance.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Brian Cregger officiating. Following the service, Mildred will be laid to rest next to Warren at Ridgedale Cemetery, Rich Valley, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
