Obituary of Esther Parker
MARION, VIRGINIA: ESTHER MARCHANT PARKER, age 94, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home, Marion, Virginia. She was born December 2, 1910 in Marion, Virginia, to the late John Edward and Sara Jonas Marchant and was a member of Falling Water Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Carmen Parker, four sisters, four brothers, and one son-in-law. Mrs. Parker is survived by one son, Ernest "Ted" Parker and wife, Jane of Bristol, Tennessee. Two daughters, Peggy Antrican of Bristol, Tennessee and Atha Mercer and husband, Stanley of Atkins, Virginia. Seven grandchildren, William Coolidge Antrican, Jr. and wife, Susan; Angela A. Such and husband, Brian; Alisa Carol Mercer; David Parker and wife, Debbie; Tommy Parker and wife, Susan; Douglas Parker and wife, Cynthia; and Jeff Parker and wife, Nancy. Seventeen great-grandchildren, Jason and Erin Antrican; David, Stacy and Bradley Parker; Michael, Melanie, Christy, and Erica Parker; Greg, Andrea, and Bethany Parker; Justin, Shelby, and Max Parker; and Hunter and Austin Such. Two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers will be Doug Parker, David Parker, Herbert Haulsee, Warren Sayers, Joe Sayers, and Jimmy Cook. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Paul Jones and Dr. Mark Ross officiating. Burial will be held in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
