Obituary of Sadie Lowman
SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: SADIE MARTIN LOWMAN, age 90, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Smyth County Community Hospital.
Born on March 22, 1925, Mrs. Lowman was a lifetime member of Valley View Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School most of her life. At church when it was time to make apple butter, Sadie was the one to say "It is ready". She was a devoted Christian mother and grandmother to her family. While spending time with Sadie, you would see a perfect example of what Jesus' love would be. She showed what a sister, wife, mother and friend should be. Sadie was a devoted caregiver for her daughter, mother, and husband. If you went to her home to visit, you would find her working in her garden and you could expect to eat from the bounty of her garden. Sadie will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to call her family or friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Essie Martin, husband, Eugene Lowman and two daughters, Linda Lowman and Lois Robinson, brothers Junior Martin and Harold Martin.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Lowman of Sugar Grove, Virginia, and Ronald Lowman and wife, Rita of Tannersville, Virginia; son-in-law Johnny Robinson of Marion, Virginia; brothers and sisters, Lillie Owens, Roxie Thompson, Jimmy Martin, and Bruce Martin and wife, Sumire; seven grandchildren, Joe Robinson and wife Angie, George Robinson and wife Jill, Tammy Bell and husband Jamie, Charlene Kirk and husband Joey, Julie Clark and late husband, Keith, Kate Lowman, and Travis Lowman and wife, Richelle; ten great-grandchildren, Cameron Kirk, Kayla Bell, Megan Robinson, Austin Kirk, Kasey Robinson, Katelyn Robinson, Alexander Robinson, Benjamin Clark, Samuel Clark, and Hunter Robinson; and one great-great-grandson, Jaiden Kirk.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church, Sugar Grove, Virginia with Reverend Roger Frost and Brother Larry Smith officiating.
