Obituary of Della Barker

MARION: DELLA M. BARKER, age 92, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Barker was a member of the Fox Creek Regular Baptist Church in Troutdale, Virginia. She never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Barker lived a long, healthy life; and in her time she made many friends. Including her special friends she made at the W.W. Scott Senior Citizens Center where she loved to go, sometimes up to three times a week. She made many fond memories and shared much love and laughter in her visits there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Norman Barker; and granddaughter, Becky Barker Carter. Mrs. Barker is survived by one son, Larry Barker and wife, Monnie of Marion, Virginia; grandson, Arthur Barker and wife, Amy, of Sugar Grove, Virginia; sister, Mildred of Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Brittney King, Austin Barker, Ethan Barker, Isaac Barker and Gracie Barker; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Otis Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery.
