Obituary of Dorothy Whitley

MARION, VIRGINIA: DOROTHY C. WHITLEY, age 82 died Friday, December 12, 2014 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. Mrs. Whitley graduated from Johnson Memorial School of Nursing in 1952 and worked as a registered nurse for 30 years, retiring from Southwestern State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen H. Whitley. Mrs. Whitley is survived by, one son, George A. Whitley of Abingdon, Virginia; one grandson, Matthew A. Whitley of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Scott Homesley, Pastor Andrew Bansemer and Pastor James H. Bangle officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday December 14, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
