Obituary of Margie Puckett

MARION, VIRGINIA: MARGIE PORTIE PUCKETT, age 92, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Puckett loved music and dancing and she especially loved people and wanted them to be happy. She enjoyed life and loved to be out and about. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she called them the "Little Tooties". She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Portie and Ada Elender Portie; two sisters; three brothers; one brother-in-law; one son-in-law, Charles Caldwell; and one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Puckett. Mrs. Puckett is survived by a daughter, Caroline Caldwell of Syracuse, Utah; step-daughter, Shirley Collins and husband, Wayne of Cabot, Arkansas; three sons, Joseph Puckett and wife, Barbara of Marion, Virginia, Archie Puckett and wife, Sue of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Theodore "Ted" Puckett of Blue Ridge, Virginia; sister, Iris Ney of Beaumont, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas with Pastor Ruby Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
