Obituary of Violet French
SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: VIOLET WEST FRENCH, age 82, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her home in Sugar Grove, Virginia.
Violet was a loving mother who cared deeply for her boys, her grandchildren and all of her family. She was a longstanding member of Valley View Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her church and her family. Family and friends could always count on her being happy and smiling. Violet always put a smile on their faces when she would show up with her wonderful potato salad. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard West and second husband, Thomas French; parents, Milton and Mary Ford; brothers, Cecil Ford, John Ford and Willis Ford.
Violet is survived by her two sons, Dan West and Edsel West and wife, Shirley all of Sugar Grove, Virginia; step-daughter Kathy Storman of Fort Pierce, Florida; four sisters, Stella Campbell and husband, Henry of Thomas Bridge, Virginia, Mable Puckett of Marion, Virginia, Joyce Kirk of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Thelma Ray of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Dan West, Jr. and wife, Emilie of Lynchburg, Virginia and Derrick West and wife Michelle of Marion, Virginia; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Roger Frost officiating. Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at West Cemetery, Marion Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
