Obituary of Naomi Buchanan

MARION, VIRGINIA: NAOMI "SIS" BUCHANAN, age 89, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at her home in Marion. "Sis" was a member of Marion Baptist Church; and was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was employed at Parks Belk for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim C. Buchanan; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Lois Cullop and Elmer and Doris Cullop. "Sis" is survived by a daughter, Susie Henry and husband, Daryl of Madisonville, Kentucky; son, Jimmy Buchanan and wife, Robin of Marion, Virginia; sister, Phyllis Cullop of Marion, Virginia; six grandchildren, Sarah Henry, D.J. Henry, Thomas Henry, Megan Buchanan, Brett Harmon and wife, Jessica and Ally Firebaugh; four nieces, Libby Sprinkle and husband, Bart of Abingdon, Virginia, Patty Robinson and husband, Paul of New Kent, Virginia, Pam Hart and husband, Larry of Bloxom, Virginia, Susan Sparrow and husband, Don of Parksley, Virginia; and one nephew, John Cullop and wife, Kathy of Modest Town, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. Jack Garland and Reverend John Cullop officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
