Family, I am so sorry to hear about Judy. I remember her so well in high school. We used to fight over "Staf" although I never dated him! I just threatened her to let him go so I would have a chance! She was a bright spot in everybody's day. She truly was one of the kindest people I have eve known. I know how hard it is to lose your mother. Kristen and Aaron, I was sorry to read of your mother's passing in the paper this morning. I have such fond memories of your parents and you both. I don't know if you remember me, but I was your babysitter for a short while. I lived a few blocks down Audubon Street. I always loved coming to your house - your parents were very generous and they always ordered Pizza Hut beef pizza for you whenever they would be gone. Aaron you were really young - 2 or 3 at the time. Just wanted to let you know I think a lot of you and your parents and wish you all the best. I am sorry for your loss!

"Mizz Showker" as she was known to us, was my 1st grade teacher back in 1974 in Craigsville, VA. She was the nicest person to my sister and me. When I attended Emory & Henry College, she and her husband were proud of that. They were so nice and supportive. I have been very fortunate to have known her through the years. We have lost a great one.

Barbara and I were shocked and saddened to hear about Judie's death. Friendships are developed in high school that don't seem to be duplicated later in life. We may not see a classmate for years or even decades, but we always seem to be able to take up where we left off. We will be keeping Judie's family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

When I was a young and impressionable girl, I remember attending Judie and Skip's wedding. I remember thinking that Judie was so beautiful....she looked like Cinderella to me! Through my growing up years and as a young woman out of college, I had the opportunity to visit with Judie several times at Uncle Joe and Aunt Thelma's house and at a few family reunions. It was during those times that I got to see exactly how beautiful she was.....inside and out. She had such a gift of making people feel special. I remember when she talked to me, she gave me her undivided attention and talked to me like my life was the most interesting thing around. I know she must have been such a wonderful teacher and probably made each student feel like they were her favorite. When someone like that crosses your path, you don't forget them. Judie will not be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

So sad to learn of Judie's death. We attended high school together, and I had in recent years enjoyed being with her at Emory & Henry for More Than A Vacation. She was a lovely person and will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to her family.
