Obituary of Alice Doyle

MARION, VIRGINIA: ALICE C. DOYLE, age 85, died Saturday August 23, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital. Alice Doyle, as an infant, was entered on the cradle roll at Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church. Later as an adult, she became a member of the church and at the time of her death, she was the oldest living member. She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Annie Phipps Doyle; two brothers, John L. Doyle, Jr. and Howard L. Doyle; two sisters, Katherine May Doyle and Elsie Louise Doyle; nephew, John Mitchell Doyle. She is survived by a great nephew, John "Robbie" Doyle and wife, Patsy; great niece Debbie Edwards and husband, Dean; two great-great nephews, Matthew Horton and Benjamin Horton; several cousins in this area and Bethesda, Maryland, including Sandy Smith, Robert Stinson and Mary Stinson and special friend, Connie Sturgill. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church with Reverend Eugene Baldwin and Reverend Tom Sullivan officiating. Graveside Services will take place Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday, August 25, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Francis Marion Manor and to Dr. Clampitt and his staff at Family Physicians of Marion.
