Obituary of Shirley Norman

MARION, VIRGINIA: SHIRLEY JOSEPHINE NORMAN, age 78, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. Shirley was born May 19, 1936 in Marion, Virginia. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family and in her free time she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ives Homer Norman. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Morse and husband, David of Columbus, Georgia; one son, Walter David Norman of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Gladys Marie Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia; two brothers, Doc Edward Hutton of North Port, Florida and Joe Patrick Hutton of Marion, Virginia; two grandchildren, Sherry Campbell and husband, Mark of Marion, Virginia and Michael Norman of Columbus, Georgia; five great-grandchildren, including one special great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Middle Fork Cemetery, Chilhowie Virginia with Reverend Adam Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
