Obituary of Dorothy Roberts

MARION, VIRGINIA: DOROTHY ELLEN ROBERTS, age 78, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. Dorothy was a life loving and living Christian lady. She and her husband, Jessie traveled the area for over three years singing Gospel music as The Lamb's Gospel Singers. If there was BINGO to play, you could count on Dorothy with her friends at the Marion VFW and then at the Francis Marion Manor. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. Dorothy was employed by Harwood for 35 years and the IDC for 5 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Burkett and several brothers and sisters. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of almost 23 years, Jessie Bud Roberts of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Evelyn Rethford of Marion, Virginia; one brother, Don Hash of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Shawn Womack and Elder Garry Thompson officiating. Burial will be private in Ridgedale Cemetery, Rich Valley, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
