Dearest Freda,
Thank you for being there during Grandma Pearl's illness, and for coming to her funeral. Your presence, stories, and words of comfort will always be important to me.
I'm so sorry I didn't visit you again sooner or hear about your death and funeral in time to pay my respects to you.

There are so many stories I could share here. We talked much about our shared family histories, and she told me a fascinating story about a girl she knew that lost her fiance who was captured, then executed for his involvement in the Doolittle raid. we joked and laughed often, whether on the phone; or, in person when she was living in Maryland.
I fondly remember the times when our families spent Christmases together, and when she listened to songs I had written; but, the story that stands out above all others is the one that is most important right now.
It was probably more than twenty years ago that she told me about a dream she had shortly after Uncle Lance had passed. She said that Uncle Lance came to her one night, sat on the bed next to her, comforting her, and telling her that everything was going to be alright. When he told her he had to leave, she said he went through two large doors into a landscape the likes of which she had never seen before; but, more importantly, it was so beautiful that there were no words to describe (and she was eloquent with words) what she saw.
Personally, I don't believe it was a dream, and I believe she passed through those doors into that beautiful place. Aunt Freda, I miss you more than I can exress, and I'm very saddened because I couldn't come to the services; but, I smile at the prospect that we will speak again.
I love you, now, and always,
Jim

When I was little Aunt Freda would send me cards and they were always addressed Princess Kami. That made me feel like I was the most special little girl in the whole world. I have so many memories of just sitting around and talking with her at my grandmom's house. She was always so fun and had such a great sense of humor. I also remember visiting her at her house in Virginia and her making us banana pudding. She was such a great lady and had her own sense of spunk that I loved. She will be missed tremendously.

What a blessing it was to have such a wonderful person to call my Aunt. I can always remember as a child she always called me Princess Adena and made me feel like one as well. I have so many wonderful memories of laying on her on the couch her in her nightgown and me in my pjs and all of her stories she would share. My two oldest children Brooke and Bradley also had the honor of being around her and you could see how much she loved them. Although she will be greatly missed, we know where she is and I loved her soo much more than she even knew. ~Princess Adena
