Obituary of John York

MARION, VIRGINIA: JOHN WATSON YORK, age 81, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 while camping at his favorite spot in Virginia. John had a passionate love of the outdoors and was happiest when fishing and camping in the Everglades and in Virginia. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as the Old Man in the Wooden Boat from his trips to the Everglades. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Senah Seaver York of St. Petersburg, FL; his daughter Anne Marie York Keezer of Roswell, GA; his son John Marvin York of Huntsville, AL; his grandchildren Richie and Matthew Keezer, Sottie and Colin and Alexis York; his sister Felice McCready of Martinsville, VA; and two nephews, Jason York and Andy McCready. The family will receive friends Monday, June 16, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in St. Petersburg, Florida.
