Bro. Bill, Bro. Neville & Family, I was saddened to hear of Sonya's passing and yet rejoicing with you for her home-going. It was my privilege to have known her through the years. She was a tower of strength and an inspiration to many; much like her mom. My prayers and thoughts are with you. May our loving heavenly Father give to each of you an abundance of His love, comfort, peace, care, strength and wisdom to carry you through the difficult days.

I have known Sonya ever since I started dating and eventually marrying her older brother Duane. We immediately had a sisterly bond but one time in particular comes to mind when she was especially dear to me. My mother had heart surgery in Tulsa and I had to travel 600 miles away from home to take care of her and my dad. The hard part was leaving Duane and our girls ages 10 and 6. The days turned into weeks and weeks into a couple of months not being with my husband and children! So we made the decision to bring the girls to Tulsa to be with me even though they would miss about a month of school. Sonya volunteered to watch my girls and home school them while I stayed at the hospital during the day and I would pick them up from Bill and Sonya's house every evening. I remember our girls saying how strict Aunt Sonya was on school work but also a lot of fun and they will never forget that time they had with the McCollians and their "teacher" Aunt Sonya. She took on the task of keeping 2 little girls in line all the while taking care of Bill, Aubrey, her home, her church, AND she was 8 and 1/2 months pregnant with Natalia!! I loved this sweet lady and I know so many feel the same way I do. Forever in our hearts, sweet wonderful woman of God.

I am so sad to hear of Sonya's passing. I am also very glad to have known her. She was my coworker and friend. I learned a lot from her. Even after we did not work together anymore and she moved back to Virginia, we remained occasional prayer partners. When our worked relationship came to a close, I told her: "I'm not Jesus; but if I was I would say 'Well done good and faithful servant'". I fully believe she has now heard it face to face from the Master himself! I pray for God's peace and comfort for the family during this time.

I will never forget this precious precious lady and Bro. Bill of course. I remember them from Highway Chapel in Quitman Louisiana. I will never forget her honesty, always positive attitude, and smiling face. She had a heart of gold and never a negative word to say about anyone or anything. She is truly a role model for all three of her girls to look up to. She is no longer in pain and in a very beautiful mansion she rightfully deserves. I know she will be missed here on earth but know that she is looking down on everyone! This whole family holds a special place in my heart and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
