Dear Michelle and all the family, I am so very sorry to hear of your father, Bob Guy's passing. What pleasant memories I have of him. I am so sorry that I cannot be there at his funeral. I didn't hear until just now and I have an all day meeting tomorrow with my community. I called Fr. Dan Bain on his birthday and we were just talking about Bob then. What a great person he was and how proud you all can be. Take care of yourselves and know that I am keeping you in prayer. Love to you all.

When I was a child growing up in Springfield, Il, my aunt and uncle and all my cousins would come to visit. It was something I always looked forward to and it came and went too swiftly. When my cousins came it was like I had another family of brothers and sisters. We would always have fun visiting, telling stories, asking our grandparents about the "old days" and generally just enjoying the company of each other. One of my favorite times was when uncle Ed, my dad (Dolph A. Guy Jr., and my grandfather (Dolph A. Guy Sr.) would tell stories about their exploits while growing up.
I miss those days and I miss the company of that part of my family. Maybe someday I will get to visit with some of those remaining cousins that I have. I want them to know I think of them often, wish them all the best of luck, and I want them to know I feel so badly that they just lost their dad.
