Obituary of Constance Greer
MARION, VIRGINIA: CONSTANCE "CONNIE" GREER, age 78, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 23, 2014.
Born January 28, 1936 in Smyth County, Virginia, Connie was a member of Marion Baptist Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Marion High School and retired from United Telephone Company (Sprint) with 29 years of service. Connie was a past charter member of the Marion Business and Professional Women's Club where she held offices on local, district, and state levels, and Marion Life Saving Crew Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Lafayette Greer; her parents, Sam and Mae Stephenson and three brothers, James Stephenson, Johnny Stephenson and Preston Stephenson.
Connie is survived by one son, Stephen A. Harris of Lynchburg, Virginia; one step-daughter, Patty Davidson and husband, Bradley of Atkins, Virginia; three step-grandchildren, Ashley Moorer and husband, Matt of Marion, Virginia, Benjamin Davidson of Atkins, Virginia and Adam Davidson and wife, Amber of Rural Retreat, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and many special friends including the members of Rebekah Class at Marion Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Stephanie Nichols-Porter officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. Public visitation will be held Tuesday beginning at 6:00 p.m. and continue until the time of the service at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
