Obituary of Ronald Shupe

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: RONALD EUGENE SHUPE, age 64, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil E. Shupe; brother, Kenneth D. Shupe and daughter, Tammy J. Shupe. Ronald is survived by his wife of 25 years, Betty Lou Griffey McGuire Shupe; mother, Helen Cress Shupe, both of Atkins, Virginia; daughter, Christi Shupe; sons, Gerald McGuire and wife, Sarah, and Richard McGuire, all of Atkins, Virginia, and Kevin Shupe and wife, Tonya of Rural Retreat, Virginia; three sisters, Janice Bunn of Fancy Gap, Virginia, Carol Welch of Hillsville, Virginia, and Patricia Lambert of Greensboro, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Atkins First Church of God with Reverend Ralph Shupe and Reverend Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Wassum Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Atkins First Church of God. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with final expenses. Donations may be mailed to Helen Shupe, 190 Old Tannery Road, Atkins, VA 24311.
