Obituary of Lieselotte Parks
MARION, VIRGINIA: LIESELOTTE PARKS, age 78, widow of Johnathan Guy Parks, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 while visiting her family in her hometown of Heringen, Germany.
She was born June 23, 1935 to the late Albert and Emilie Lang Rau in Heringen, Germany. She married Johnathan Guy Parks in 1959 and became a United States citizen in 1960. Lieselotte was a loyal member of the Matson Drive Presbyterian Church, a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Marion Chapter #72 and a former employee of Harwood Manufacturing. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting.
Lieselotte is survived by one son, Danny Parks and Kim of Marion, Virginia; four grandchildren Todd and wife, Jenny of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Joshua of Boston, Massachusetts, Chad of Bristol, Virginia and Shaun of Marion, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Casey, Dylan, Skylar and Sophia; three sisters, Helga Thomae, Gertrude Doerner and husband, Lothar, and Marianne Pfeiler; one brother, Helmut Rau and wife, Marisha; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Scott Spence officiating and with an Eastern Star, Marion Chapter #72 Memorial Service. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
