Obituary of James Pratt

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: JAMES WALTER "SLICK" PRATT, age 89, died Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was a native of Rich Valley and lived most of his life in Atkins, Virginia. He loved his family, his church and to sing. He was a farmer until his health failed. Mr. Pratt is survived by his wife of 63 years, Angeline Pratt; son, C.W. Pratt and wife, Shirley Pratt; daughter, Norma Teaters all of Atkins, Virginia; four grandchildren, Dr. Houston Teaters and wife, Jodi Teaters of Christiansburg, Jessica Teaters Martin and husband, David Martin of Radford, Jason Pratt and wife, Dr. Paige Pratt of Atkins, and Sara Carty and husband, Gil "Homer" Carty of Wytheville; five great-grandchildren, Eli, Nate and Ben Teaters, Everett Martin, Elizabeth Pratt and Baby Carty soon to arrive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Wassum Cemetery, Atkins, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday following the funeral service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
