Obituary of Cecil Cole
CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: CECIL R. "JIM" COLE, JR., age 78, went to be with his beloved wife Polly, Thursday, September 5, 2013.
He was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly served his country in Vietnam and Korea. Other than his wife, family and the church, Mr. Cole loved nothing more than to play bluegrass music with his buddies as a member of the Clearbrook Band.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Hayes.
Cecil is survived by his daughter Pam Blevins and husband, Scott of Dahlongea, Georgia; two sons, Ronnie Cole and wife, Debbie of Stuarts Draft, Virginia and Kenny Cole and wife, Lori of Rowland, North Carolina; three step-sons, Robin Kalber and wife, Lori of Chesterfield, Virginia; Chris Kalber and wife, Renita of Marion, Virginia; and John Kalber and wife, Elizabeth of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Joseph Cole of Bristol, Virginia and Harold Cole of Roanoke, Virginia; sixteen grandchildren, Nathan Cole, Simon Cole, Livingston Cole, Aaron Cole, Richard Cole, Ryan Cole, Robert Cole, Zachary Blevins, Julie Blevins, Field Kalber, Lindsey Kalber, Lucas Kalber, Kohl Kalber, Macy Kalber, Julie Simmons and Kevin Hayes; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, Atkins, Virginia with Reverend Eddie Beck and Mr. Lucas Kalber officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
