Obituary of BeEtta Hester

MARION, VIRGINIA: BeEtta Winesett Hester, Age 98, Died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home, Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Hester, the daughter of the late Jesse Clarence and Cleo Winesett, was born on August 11, 1915 in Ceres, Bland County, Virginia. The widow of Robert Lee Hester, she and her husband had been married for thirty-five years at the time of his death in 1982. She had worked at Roses, 5 & 10, The Style Shop, Nettie Lee, and Marion Drug. At her death, Mrs. Hester was the oldest living member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where she had taught Fourth Grade Sunday School and had been a Bible Study Leader. She enjoyed both being at home and spending time talking with friends, family and others. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hester is preceded in death by her brothers Buford Winesett, Walter "Dink" Winesett, and J. C. Winesett, Jr., and by her sister, Helen Dority. She is survived by her daughter Karen Bear and her husband, Billy, of Rural Retreat, Virginia; her son, Michael Hester and special niece, Marilyn Hester both of Marion, Virginia; a sister Margaret "Pedie" Duncan of Miami, Florida; three grandsons, Ronald Puckett, Heath Puckett, and Travis Puckett; two step-grandsons, BJ Bear and Scottie Bear; three great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; her devoted pet Terrier, Rusty and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Andrew Bansemer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 6:00 til 8:00, at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
