Dear Kathy, Kenny, and Mr. Hankla, I was so sorry to read about your loss in the Smyth County News. I have very fond memories of your Mom/Wife and always enjoyed running into her on my return trips home. She was always so kind to my Grandmother Stover. Kathy, I still remember the time she helped us make Mexican chili for Spanish at your home. She was a wonderful mother and I aspire to be just like her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kathy, Ed, Katrina and Eddie, I wanted you to know you are in my prayers. I do know how much it hurts one's heart to give up your mother/grandmother. Joy Bird, our reading teacher, saw the obituary in the paper this morning, she recognized the children's name. She grew up in Marion. I wish I could have come tonight, especially for Katrina. Kathy, if I can help by keeping Katrina and Eddie until Ed gets off work Wednesday - Friday just tell me. I know you will want to be with your Dad for a few days. Don't worry about school work, we had snow flurries today and I could not keep the class from the window. Our prayer group will remember you and all your family tomorrow morning. Love, Phyllis (Mrs. Rettig)

It was such an honor to have known Louise. She was certainly a kind, Christian lady. We will always remember how she lovingly cared for our daughter, Lynne, as a child.
