Obituary of Charlie Thomas

SPEEDWELL, VIRGINIA: CHARLIE GENE THOMAS, SR.; age 74, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at his home in Speedwell, Virginia. Gene was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Brown Thomas and a daughter, Vickey Sheffey. He is survived by his daughter, Anita Ratcliff; son, Tom Thomas and wife, Pam, all of Speedwell, Virginia; sister, Juanita Furr of Bracey, Virginia; brothers, Leon Thomas of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Doug Thomas of Speedwell, Virginia; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jerry Bell officiating. Private burial will be in Groseclose Chapel Cemetery, Speedwell, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
