Obituary of Martha Anderson

MARION, VIRGINIA: MARTHA PATTON ANDERSON, age 64, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years whom she adored, Jack D. Anderson; their first child, Jonathan Paul Anderson; and her mother, Ruth Romans Patton. Having grown up in Marion, she was a registered nurse at the Southwestern State Hospital until her retirement. Martha loved to cook for her family and having everybody at home; she would spend days in preparation for their family get-togethers, and always had each persons favorite dish. She often cried when each one went their separate ways. Martha is survived by her father, Gordon Patton; one son, Matt Anderson both of Marion, Virginia; one step-daughter, Kathi Anderson Lines and husband, Mark of Littleton, Colorado; two step-sons, Jeff Anderson and wife, Mary of Bristol, Virginia and Brian Anderson and wife, Rhonda of Abingdon, Virginia; two sisters, Margaret Harris and husband, Bobby and Shelia Rouse and husband Freddie all of Marion, Virginia; several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Donald Medley officiating. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Blevins Cemetery, near Troutdale, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
