Obituary of Hester Sawyers

MARION, VIRGINIA: H. REBECCA SAWYERS passed away, Wednesday, December 26, 2012 after a lengthy illness at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Becky was a member of the Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ella Henderson; and a son, Tony P. Sawyers. She is survived by two sons, Jim Rogers and wife, Sarah of Crewe, Virginia, Mike Sawyers of Marion, Virginia; one daughter, Missy Thomas and husband, Ron of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Helen Haga Deatherage of Marion, Virginia; two brothers, Sydney Henderson of California and Kenneth Henderson and wife, Agida, of Texas; three grandchildren, Grace and Eliza Rogers of Crewe, Virginia and Rowan Thomas of Marion, Virginia; one step-grandson, Keith Thomas of Abingdon, Virginia; a special niece Liza Reedy; longtime special friend, Pete Sawyers; special friend and care-giver, Janice Bise; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Valley Health Care Center staff, especially Adam and Brenda Blevins for their kind efforts. Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor David Tripp and Lay-Pastor Kenneth Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
