Obituary of Ruth Gore
MARION, VIRGINIA: RUTH LEONA KIRK GORE, age 81, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Gore, her parents, Worley and Ella Mae Dye Kirk, her siblings, Vernon, Sherman, Vera, Violet and John and a son-in-law, James "Jimmy" Catron, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Debby and Ken Sheets, Carol and Randall Ball, Robert Duane and Teresa Gore and Anita Catron all of Marion, Virginia.
Grandchildren, Jamie and Tracy Sheets, Scott and Amy Ball, of Marion, Virginia, Heather and Travis Halsey of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Chris Gore of Blacksburg, Virginia, Adam Gore and Zak Gore all of Marion, Virginia.
Great-granddaughters, Ashlyn Sheets Ward and Husband, Matt of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rachel Sheets, Hannah Ball and Sarah Ball of Marion, Virginia, Tagen Halsey and Zoey Halsey of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; one step-great-granddaughter, Nicolette Halsey of Chilhowie, Virginia; one step-great-grandson, Michael Harris of Bristol, Virginia.
Brothers and sisters, Virginia Robinson of Marion, Virginia, Paul and Charlene Kirk of Rhoadesville, Virginia, Virgie Miller of Rome, Ohio, Barbara and Leonard Pruitt of Elkton, Maryland, June Teel of Sugar Grove, Virginia, Luther and Katie Kirk of Pulaski, Virginia and George "Red" and Pauline Kirk of Catlett, Virginia.
Peggy Hawkins Evans, Marion, Virginia whom she considered as a daughter.
Funeral Services will be held, Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Frost, Brother Larry Smith and Rev. Paul Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Chilhowie, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
