Walda: I only recently went to Ron's Facebook page and learned of his passing. My life became busy, and I was away from Facebook for awhile. It truly broke my heart--for he was such a trooper and a precious friend! We corresponded for quite awhile after I found out about his illness--and I came to admire him more than ever before as I read his emails which were filled with such positive thoughts. Our friendship endured the span of many years--as each of us found our own paths in life, and I am proud to have known such a wonderful man. May you and your family find comfort in knowing that Ron touched many lives in an amazing way-and he will be forever remembered in fondness.

We express our deepest sympathy on Ron's death. I met Ron in St. James a few days in January 6 yrs ago upon moving from NoVA to NC. He stopped at night because our garage door was open. I was alone with my 2 dogs and husband was still in D.C. We struck a conversation and everytime he passed in his security truck, he'd chat. He set a high standard for STJ Security and always looked so handsome in his uniform. He even wore long sleeved shirts in summer. An amazing man. Glad to have been blessed with knowing him. He's been in our thoughts and prayers since he left St. James. may he rest in peace. Caroline and Don O'Brien

I was fortunate to cross paths with Ron replacing him as the director of security at St. James Plantation. In the short time that I knew him, we became quick friends and thus completing my tenure at St. James, he leaves many friends there. Based upon his struggle with illness and fighting to defeat his cancer, he served as a great inspiration. I that basis, I regret not knowing him longer and in better health. In retrospect, I hope he enjoyed his last days doing those things that meant so much to him. Godspeed brother, job well done............

Both my wife, Judy, and myself were saddened to hear that Ron had passed. He was always there to assist anyone where and when he could. After three years of torment, he's presently in a better place. Since knowing Ron, our family has always referred to him as the "gentle bear". God speed, Ron! Roger & Judy Kerr

Ron became a good friend of mine while he was Chief of Security at St. James and I was president of the St. James Property Owners' Association. His dedication and "even" enforcement of our rules made my job immensely easier than otherwise. We spent much time just talking and learning from each other. His loss will indeed be mourned in our community.
