Obituary of George Wright

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND: GEORGE WILSON WRIGHT, age 81, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born March 25, 1930 in Marion, Virginia to the late John Calvin Wright, Sr. and Minnie Pauline Blancett Wright. He enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid fan of baseball and football, especially the Baltimore Ravens. George served in the army from 1951 - 1953 and was stationed with Tank Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He also served as Honor Guard at the Kentucky Derby. His caring, kind heart and sense of humor will be missed by his family. He and his wife, Mildred would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, December 21st. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two sisters, Marie Corvin and Willie White; three brothers, John David Catron, Lee Roy Catron and John Calvin Wright, Jr.; and a beloved nephew, Richard Catron. George is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Mildred Wright of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bill Bulkley; grandsons, Paul Bulkley and Timothy Bulkley; great-grandsons, Devan Bulkley, Coleson Bulkley and Greyson Bulkley, all of California;brothers, William Gray Wright and Walter "Tommy" Wright; brother-in-law, Robert White; sister-in-law, Ruby Wright, all of Marion, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be appreciated or Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
